The Smithy is a charming and cozy B&B located in Hay-on-Wye. Our room, The Forge, featured a small balcony with views of the garden and the valley beyond. We were welcomed with Welsh cakes and a well-stocked hospitality tray. The bathroom was modern and came pre-stocked with lovely scented soap and fresh towels. Breakfast was delicious; with fresh fruits, locally sourced ingredients, and eggs and honey from the hens and bees in the garden. The hosts were friendly and helpful, offering a map of the countryside and picking us up from the bus stop when our transport was delayed. A perfect stay for a peaceful weekend, with a private terrace and view of the stars at night. Highly recommended.

They left a bottle of wine and fresh eggs as a lovely touch. This is an amazing location for exploring the Brecon Beacons, and we can't wait to stay again!
