With two championship golf courses, a modern spa and free Wi-Fi, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind. Our room was in the courtyard area and was clean, comfortable and spacious. We booked the twilight spa garden experience which was incredible, with outdoor jacuzzis, saunas, steam rooms and heated indoor and outdoor pools. Breakfast was included and had a range of options from pancakes to a full English. The leisure club was recently refurbished and had plenty of space to workout. Unfortunately, some of the staff were rude during our stay, which put us off visiting again. However, this shouldn't detract from the stunning views of the golf course, the amazing spa facilities and the overall beauty of the park.

The Mercure Chester Abbots Well Hotel is an average three-star establishment with 2 acres of beautiful gardens and a Feel Good Health Club. It's located less than 3 miles from the city centre and its grounds lead to the pretty canal-side walkways of Christleton. Check-in was slow and the staff were untrained and unprofessional, but the room was adequate. The bar area was dated, but the food was good and reasonably priced. Taxi rides into Chester were around £7, and room service was prompt but the quality was poor. With some investment, this hotel could be much better, but it's good value for money.
