Oakover Guest House is a true gem of a hotel, located in a great spot just a 10-minute walk from the town centre and only a 4-minute walk to the sea front and a 15-minute walk to the Grand Pier. Rated by the AA with 4 Gold Stars, this Victorian house built in 1870 offers luxury and comfort with plenty of original features and characterful decor. Our Room 4 was large, with a corner bath/shower and a really comfy bed. Tea, coffee, biscuits, bottled water and a fridge were provided, along with an iron and ironing board. The friendly and professional staff ensure guest satisfaction, offering excellent service and attention to detail, such as laminated information sheets and toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast was delicious with a great selection and even a gluten free option. Parking on site at the back of the property was a bonus. We would highly recommend Oakover Guest House - it's no surprise that it's rated 4.8 out of 5.

The Queenswood is a beautiful, 100-year old building with a tasteful mix of old and new styles, located a 5-minute walk from the seafront with a sunny, south-facing elevated position and commanding panoramic views. Our room was spacious and had a small balcony, perfect for capturing some stunning views of the sunset, the sea, and the pier. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the breakfast was scrumptious. The communal area had access to an outside veranda, and the room was well-equipped with everything you could expect. Parking was an issue but the staff were helpful in resolving it, and we were upgraded to a sea view room due to a cancellation. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and relaxing experience.
