Swan Hotel is a modern, comfortable hotel located in Bedford’s town centre, overlooking the beautiful Great Ouse River. With Bedford Rail Station only 1 mile away, guests can enjoy a 40-minute train journey to central London. The hotel offers a family friendly restaurant, with four steps down to the restaurant and helpful staff who will bring over high chairs and provide complete table service. The rooms are a great size, with comfy beds and clean showers, while the sink is big enough to bath a baby. Room service is available and the receptionist is always willing to help guests with the buggy. Although the council were digging up the embankment during our stay, you can still access the foot bridges over the water, with a 10minute walk to a good playpark along the river. Unfortunately, the hotel has been known to refuse honouring Booking.com reservations and charging guests more than the initial booking, so be sure to check before you book.

The Citrus Brush Treatment is a must-try - 50 minutes of back massage, foot massage with heated salt rocks. Guests can also enjoy the hydrological water treatment for overall body aches and pains. Breakfast is available for a small fee, and there is a wide selection of food choices. Room service is available until 8 pm. The day room is a great spot to relax, and the grounds feature a mini waterfall, loungers and serenity garden. The pool is stunning and the spa facilities are immaculate. The restaurant overlooks the pool and offers healthy choices. Staff are friendly and accommodating, and all guests are given free flip flops and a tote bag.
