Foxhills Club & Resort is a 400-acre estate of stunning Surrey countryside, with an Olympic-standard leisure facilities and elegant accommodation for couples, families, corporate guests and those looking for an active getaway. Enjoy a stately Manor House, built in the 19th century, at the heart of the estate, with three unique dining options, plenty of activities for children, and facilities for groups of golfers. Our room was super quiet and faced the woods, with plenty of space for couples or families. Staff, especially Angela, was very helpful, and we enjoyed the two pools (indoor and outdoor) and a lovely hammam. The Fox restaurant was booked, but XIX restaurant had a healthy salmon dish as well as a delicious crumble pie. In addition to that, the Pavilion was used by the Olympic cycling team in 2012. 45 minutes from London, Foxhills Club & Resort is the perfect escape for nature lovers and sports fans alike!

Lythe Hill Hotel

Haslemere - Surrey

The Lythe Hill Hotel and Spa is a beautiful country house hotel set in the picturesque Surrey Hills. With a restaurant, spa and swimming pool, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind. Our room was big, bright and clean, and the spa facilities were clean and well maintained. The spa was a little run down in places, and the pool was on the cold side, but it was a great base for hiking if you wanted to explore the area. The food was excellent, both for breakfast and dinner, but we were disappointed to be told that the spa would be out of order for a full day of our stay. When we arrived for our New Year's Eve event, we found the leisure facilities closed, the pool cold and the sauna out of order. The room was lovely and recently renovated, but the Gatsby event wasn't quite what we had expected. All in all, Lythe Hill Hotel and Spa is a pleasant place to stay for a night or two, but the service needs to be improved in order to make it a truly memorable experience.

Guildford Manor Hotel & Spa

Guildford - Surrey

Set in 9 acres of parkland and conveniently located near Guildford, Woking, and the M25, this hotel offers free WiFi and free parking. The rooms are small, but comfortable, and all feature free WiFi and free parking on site. Unfortunately, some rooms may have a musky odour or mild smell of drains. The restaurant serves good food for dinner, but breakfast is questionable. The staff are also rude and disinterested. There is no bar, except within the restaurant. The spa package is disorganised and refunds can take up to 5 days. Additionally, the heating is centrally controlled and rooms can be cold in winter. The car park is not lit and can be dangerous in the dark. The stairs leading to the car park are also icy and slippery and there is no grit put down for guests. The rooms are reasonably clean, however, there are cobwebs in some areas and the decor is tired in some parts.

Maconald Frimley Hall Hotel and Spa is a conveniently located hotel with easy access to the M3 and M25 motorways, only 16 miles from Heathrow Airport, and a 45 minute train ride from central London. It is a beautiful hotel with picturesque grounds, and features a relaxing spa and pool area with a range of treatments and activities to book. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with all the amenities you need including a fridge, coffee and tea, plenty of towels, a breakfast menu, and a robe and slippers. The temperature in the rooms can be temperamental, but it's cozy when it's cold outside. The afternoon tea is delicious and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The hotel staff are always friendly and helpful, and there are plenty of places nearby for shopping and food. Due to Covid restrictions, breakfast is served by the hotel staff, but they are fast and efficient. Afternoon tea is highly recommended, with lots of delicious options. There are also plenty of places nearby to explore on foot, or take a short drive to Camberley for restaurants and pubs. Although the hotel has hosted too many functions, the staff do their best to ensure everyone is looked after. The rooms are a bit tired and the walls are very thin, but the mattress is comfortable.
