It was originally built in 1706 as a coaching inn and still has many of its period features, including exposed oak beams, open fires and exposed stone walls. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the rooms are clean and well-equipped, and the outdoor areas are a great place to relax. The restaurant serves delicious cuisine, while the bar is friendly and comfortable. Netflix and Sky freeview channels are available. The breakfast is also delicious and the locals are very chatty. Although the shower was a bit low, the bed was too soft and the food was the best we've had. Highly recommended!
