Crookabeck B&B is a fantastic spot in the Lake District, located in the charming village of Patterdale. Enjoy spectacular mountain views and easy access to nearby attractions like Ullswater, Ambleside Windemere, Place Fell, and Glenridding. The bed and breakfast offers a warm and cosy atmosphere, with comfortable rooms and an excellent Full English/Irish or vegetarian breakfast. Our host, Adam, was incredibly welcoming and helpful and his parents Bennie and Mary were delightful. We were even given a tour of the farm, seeing the local Herdwick and Mohair sheep, and learning about the different types of wool products. The White Lion pub is a short walk away and there are many more restaurants and shops in nearby Ambleside. We had a great last-minute stay at this B&B and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the Lake District.

Located in the heart of the Lake District, just 5 minutes' drive from Ambleside, it offers free WiFi access and free on-site parking. It is a perfect getaway for people wishing for a relaxing stay in the lakes with amazing views of Wansfell Pike and the surrounding areas. The room we stayed in was grand with lovely period decor and furniture, and the mattress was so comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with generous servings and a smiley face made from breakfast items. Paul and Rachel were wonderful hosts, very knowledgeable about the area and genuinely nice people. They even organised flowers and Prosecco for us! Make sure to check out Foxghyll Country House for a truly memorable and unique experience.

The food was phenomenal - from the Cumbria breakfast to the delicious cakes and breakfasts, we definitely felt like royalty. With its peaceful setting and excellent amenities, the Waterwheel is the perfect base for exploring the Lakes District. Highly recommend for both couples and solo female travelers!
