Cliveden is a historic Italianate mansion set in the beautiful National Trust gardens, 45 minutes west of London and 20 minutes from London Heathrow. The house combines Edwardian elegance with modern luxury, fine cuisine and faultless hospitality. Our stay was exquisite - the room was magnificent, the spa luxurious with a small but nice swimming pool, and the gym small but adequate. There were service charges that were not clarified upfront, and the breakfast and dinner were average. The Blue Room has been set up for conferences, and the parking valets weren't very helpful. However, the staff are wonderful and made the stay very special. Cliveden is an ideal place to stay for a magical weekend - beautiful grounds, incredible history and excellent service.

Crowne Plaza Marlow is a 4-Star hotel situated beside a lake in the heart of the Thames Valley. It features an 18-metre swimming pool, an indoor hot tub, sauna and steam room in its leisure centre. Our stay was off to a great start as we were greeted by Bridget, who was exceptionally helpful and in her personable manner. Our king-sized room was large, comfortable and well-equipped with furniture, and the bathroom was roomy and well provided for. The hotel also boasts an open conservatory and a large expanse of grassed area, leading down to a lake. The restaurant serves good quality food at a reasonable price and the breakfast was excellent. There were also tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Although we had small issues with water, they were quickly resolved by a manager. We highly recommend Crowne Plaza Marlow for a relaxing stay in the Thames Valley.

Others find the rooms tired and in need of refurbishment and the restaurant service slow and unhelpful. There have been reports of unclean rooms and neglected areas of the resort. Covid-19 precautions are in place but there have been reports of guests feeling unwell during their stay. Breakfast is included but reviews are not good. All in all, this hotel is not recommended.
