Sketchley Grange Hotel is an elegant 4-star country house hotel, located in the town of Hinckley, on the borders of East and West Midlands. It features a stylish spa and is situated in a beautiful rural setting. Unfortunately, we encountered some issues during our stay - the air conditioning was broken, there were not enough towels, there was a limited selection for breakfast and no vegan or vegetarian options, the milk for tea and coffee was stale, and the shower had black mold. The bathroom mirror hadn't been cleaned, and the staff could not move us to another room. The COVID measures at breakfast were also inadequate. Despite these issues, the reception team were helpful and friendly, and the barman was attentive. We had a not so pleasant experience, but the rural setting and spa are definitely worth checking out.

Burleigh Court Hotel is a great getaway located on the peaceful grounds of Loughborough University. It's modern decor, free WiFi, free parking, spacious rooms and ample leisure and spa facilities make it a perfect destination. Our executive room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. We loved the gym, swimming pool, whirlpool, steam room and sauna, as well as the chargeable massage services. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the housekeeper even decorated our room for my birthday! Breakfast was included and it was delicious. The bar and restaurant area was very comfortable with plenty of seating and the lunch and evening menu had a good selection of food. We were disappointed with the showers and changing rooms as they were dirty and unkept. Overall, we had a great stay and are looking forward to returning next year!
