3 miles from Birtley This hotel, located just 6 miles from Newcastle city centre, offers excellent facilities, including a restaurant, brasserie, lounge bar, and an 18-hole championship golf course. Despite the uncertain times, the hotel has maintained high standards of service and cleanliness. Although our room was dated, we had a lovely stay, with a great restaurant and leisure facilities. We were even offered bottles of water when we asked for some. The staff were friendly and provided an excellent service. Despite the dated room, it felt like home from home, and we would definitely recommend it for a stay in the area.

All in all, The Royal Station Hotel offers convenience, comfort and plenty of amenities for a pleasant stay in Newcastle.

The hotel was fully booked during a big racing event, but guests were disappointed with the pricing when trying to extend their stay. The staff were apologetic and offered a free upgrade, however the cleanliness was still not up to standard. Despite this, the hotel could be improved with a few changes.
