This 4-star hotel is situated on the shores of Loch Ard, just 6 miles from the foot of Ben Lomond. It offers a spa, an on-site activity centre and a select menu of wines and whiskies. The rooms are spacious and come with all the necessary amenities, including a coffee, tea, hairdryer and bathroom products. The hotel grounds are beautiful and perfect for an evening walk, and the surrounding nature is breathtaking. The food and drink are a bit pricey but of good quality, with plenty of options to choose from. The staff are professional, polite and accommodating and will go the extra mile to make sure you have a great stay. Despite some minor issues, the overall stay was a pleasant one and definitely worth the money.

The Highland Hotel is a beautiful 1854 hotel located less than 10 minutes’ walk from Stirling's historic castle and AA Rosette-awarded restaurant. With free parking and accommodating staff, we had an enjoyable stay. Our room was large and comfortable, with a nice view and all of our requests were fulfilled quickly. We had access to the hotel's swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi - all free-of-charge, which was a fantastic way to relax before and after a day exploring Stirling. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection of food. Unfortunately, our room had signs of water damage and the jacuzzi was broken, which was disappointing. Despite this, overall we had a great stay and would happily come back again.
