Embleton Spa Hotel is a family-run hotel offering apartments, suites, and en-suite rooms with a swimming pool, steam room, and a gym. We recently stayed here and found the staff and food to be amazing and the location gorgeous. Although advertised as a spa hotel, the access to the pool and spa area was limited and the showers are communal. Our room was clean but a bit tired and the mattress had an uncomfortable spring sticking up. The ensuite shower room was a bit cramped, with a large fixed head, and the door handle and lock were old and often got stuck. The hotel is dog-friendly and has old-world charm, but if you're looking for a relaxing spa experience, it might not be the right place. Despite our disappointment with the facilities, the staff and the chef made the stay pleasant.
