This majestic Victorian mansion is set in peaceful countryside, 5 miles from Aberdeen. With its two bars, one restaurant, spa, pool, gym and close proximity to the Castle Trail, it's the perfect place for a romantic weekend getaway. Our recently refurbished rooms have huge beds with quality duvets, linens and towels, while Timorous Beasties wallpaper adds a luxurious touch to the main bar. Unfortunately, the whisky bar is closed and some of the public rooms can be cold, but cozy fires are available for extra comfort. The menu is reduced, but the food is delicious, and don't forget to try the expertly crafted curry! The leisure facilities are great, but be aware that the pool can be crowded with children, and the spa bathrooms are in need of a clean. Don't let the high prices for food and drink put you off, as an overnight stay with breakfast, dinner and drinks can be surprisingly affordable!

Thainstone House is a luxury hotel set in 44 acres of beautiful gardens and woodland, just 15 minutes from Aberdeen Dyce International Airport. The hotel offers a spa and fitness centre and free parking. Upon arrival, there was a mix-up with payments, however this was quickly resolved. The room was clean, and the staff upgraded us to the master suite and set up a few bottles of fizz and rose petals on the bed. The Green Lady restaurant within the hotel serves delicious food and drinks, with a great selection of options. The safety precautions taken by the staff regarding COVID-19 were impressive. Pool time and massages at the spa were relaxing and comfortable. Breakfast was also very good. Overall, we had a lovely getaway - 10/10 would stay here again!
