Eight Acres Hotel is situated close to Elgin town centre, in 8 acres of manicured grounds. The hotel boasts bright, contemporary-style bedrooms, all en-suite with complimentary toiletries and a welcome tea tray. Additionally, the communal spaces are well presented and the staff are friendly and professional. The downside for some is that the bedrooms can be a bit noisy and the walls are quite thin. However, the hotel does provide earplugs to help guests get a good night's sleep. The hotel has recently re-opened and is undergoing renovations, but the rooms are already clean, comfortable and of a good size. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent, cooked to perfection. It may be a bit dated and pricey, but it's a great place to stay for an overnight and definitely worth the visit.

Waterside Inn by the River Ugie is a fantastic place to stay. With a pool, a spa and a gym, you'll have plenty of ways to relax and rejuvenate. Peterhead is just a few miles away, and there's free parking for added convenience. Our experience was made even better by the warm welcome we received from the manager, James, who went above and beyond to make our stay special, even providing a box of shortbread and Christmas presents for our daughter. We enjoyed half board and the food was great, with huge portions and delicious dishes. The nearby beach is a beautiful 15 minute walk away, and we were even recommended Slains Castle in Cruden Bay for a great Boxing Day walk. We can't wait to return and explore more of Scotland!
