Guests can enjoy a warm welcome from Darija on reception, as well as spacious rooms, replenished water and a wet shower for accessible rooms. Breakfast is included and the bar serves up tasty meals, while the spa area offers a peaceful haven to relax in. Unfortunately one waiter embarrassed guests on one occasion, but other staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. All in all, a great place to stay and worth a return visit.

Unfortunately, the front of house and reservations staff have not lived up to expectations and left us feeling as if we were at a 3 star hotel charging extortionate rates. We were even offered the chance to bid for an upgrade, but what exactly is the difference between a single room in the attic and the royal suite? We were also disappointed to receive a spam message from the hotel, and an unsolicited text message for a fire alarm practice. Housekeeping and the receptionist smell leave a lot to be desired. A very frustrating experience.

The staff are very welcoming, helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was tasty with lots of options, and the spa facilities were nice. The room was a good size with outdoor seating area. You can walk to Oxford along the Thames Path. It is also dog friendly with complementary treats, water bowl and poop bags for your pooch. The exterior grounds and surroundings are stunning with great views of the river. The bar area is very relaxing with a huge fireplace and comfy sofas. The food on the menu is tasty and the cocktails were delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. The beds were surprisingly comfortable, and the room and bedding were clean and fresh. Local buses are efficient and help you get to Oxford and Abingdon. Overall, voco Oxford Thames is a great hotel and perfect for a relaxing weekend stay.

Breakfast is mediocre and there have been reports of overbooking. Guests have been promised early check-in but have been sent to inferior hotels miles away.
