This historic townhouse is located just under a mile from the centre of Darlington, offering free limited parking and free internet. The welcoming and helpful staff made our stay truly enjoyable and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious and generous, with cooked-to-order options like a Full English, Porridge and Smoked Salmon, as well as continental breakfast available. With a great on-site restaurant, bar and a patio and garden, the hotel has a lot of character and a relaxed vibe. The rooms are clean and come with a modern TV and comfortable bedding. The location is close to the centre and is surrounded by a park, bars, and restaurants. Plus, if you book directly you get a 10% discount on the room, 10% off food and a free room upgrade. This Grade 2 listed Georgian house has a beautiful walled garden and is a great wedding venue. With a fantastic breakfast, friendly staff and great location, this hotel provides excellent value for money.

Hall Garth Hotel; BW Signature Collection is the perfect place to stay for a relaxed getaway. Nestled in 70 acres of parkland, just off the A1 at junction 59, this hotel is peaceful and tranquil. Our Granary Suite was delightfully quaint with two double bedrooms, a sitting/dining room, and 3 TVs for ultimate comfort. The beds were so comfortable, we overslept! The restaurant was helpful with allergies and the view over the golf course and stream was picturesque. The spa treatments, pool, sauna, jacuzzi and gym were all great and the staff were more than helpful. This hotel is perfect for golfers, travelers, and wedding receptions; its timeless charm and homely atmosphere will make you feel right at home.

The Manor House Hotel is a charming English manor house close to the A1 road. With free WiFi in public areas and food served all day, it's a great place for a stay. Our 'superior' room was large and pet-friendly, with a good-size TV and a bank of lovely old wooden wardrobes. The en-suite bathroom had a full-size bath and separate power shower, and was kept nice and clean. The restaurant and bar were closed due to Covid, but the hotel provided room service for breakfast and evening meals if ordered in advance. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the history of the hotel, dating back to 1429, added to the charm. I took some short walks around West Auckland and found the locals to be very polite. Despite the few negative reviews, I had an enjoyable stay at The Manor House Hotel.

Unfortunately, the junior suite was small value for money, with only one tea and coffee tray, no biscuits, and air conditioning that couldn't be turned off. The blinds in the velux windows were also old and worn. Despite these issues, it is still a great place to stay.
