Mercure Warwickshire Walton Hall Hotel & Spa is a beautiful 65-acre countryside retreat situated just 10 minutes from the M40 and only 20 minutes away from historic Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon. Due to COVID, services were limited, but the swimming pool was open with the option of two 45-minute slots a day. The restaurant was open but with a limited menu. The staff were fantastic, particularly Johnny, and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. Our self-contained apartment was nice and comfortable with a big sofa and two good-sized bedrooms, plus a nice enclosed garden area for our dogs. The grounds of the hotel were peaceful, with a lake, ducks, swans, geese and a heron. The hotel pool was great for a relaxing swim, and the location was great for sight-seeing. We had a great and relaxing stay at the Mercure Warwickshire Walton Hall Hotel & Spa.

The room décor is quite dated and unfortunately, the spa staff can be quite rude. As the hotel is under new ownership, there have been some cost-cutting measures which has meant that the bar was empty on New Year's Eve. Nevertheless, the staff are friendly and helpful, making it the perfect place to stay for a relaxing getaway.
