Mercure Warwickshire Walton Hall Hotel & Spa offers a tranquil escape in 65 acres of beautiful English countryside. It’s located 10 minutes from the M40 motorway, with historical Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon both 20 minutes away. Our stay was made comfortable and pleasant by the hotel staff, with Joanne taking care of check-in, Johnny helping us with our requests, Lena and Tom going above and beyond, and the young girl in the restaurant on Friday night being wonderful. We stayed in a self contained apartment on the grounds with a big sofa, two bedrooms, and a nice enclosed garden. Other amenities included a nice swimming pool, a leisure club with 45 minute slots, and a restaurant with a limited menu. The grounds of the hotel were peaceful and perfect for a leisurely walk around the lake, with ducks, swans, geese, and a heron. Plus, it’s only a short drive away from Stratford upon Avon and Warwick. Overall, it was a great and relaxing stay!

Ettingham Park is a luxury, 4-star Gothic mansion set within 40 acres of lush parkland with the River Stour running through. The evening meal was slightly overpriced but the knowledge of the server regarding the wine was superb. The rooms were pleasant and generally clean, however the bathroom was in need of some TLC. The rate was a bit expensive, but the milk and cookies for guests was a nice touch. The common areas are traditional and sophisticated, and the cheese plate and mushroom pasta are definitely worth trying. With parking and a beautiful listed building in the courtyard, Ettingham Park is a stunning attraction.
