This historic French chateau-style manor is just 1.5 miles away from Ascot Racecourse. The rooms are a good size and clean, but the wardrobe doors have been known to fall off the hinges. Dining is usually of a high standard, though vegan ice cream can sometimes be incorrectly served. Drinks and dinner can take longer than expected to arrive, and breakfast is served cold. Though the advert and facilities are not as luxurious as advertised, the hotel staff are friendly and polite, and the spa facilities enjoyable. Whilst the décor of the room is a little dated and there are safety hazards to be aware of, the water fountain in the hallway is a nice touch. With a little attention to detail, this could be an exceptional hotel.

Enjoy 25 acres of woodland and all the amenities of a modern hotel. Our deluxe rooms offer two queen-size beds, a pull-out bed, and a bath. For a special treat, try our warm cookies. Unfortunately, the beds were a bit too firm for our liking, and the pillows were too soft and noisy. Breakfast was a let down as well. The food was cold and there was only one toaster. The evening restaurant was understaffed and chaotic, so we never returned. The room was great, but there was no bin and no ironing board (iron provided though). One of the lamps didn’t work and the wires were half pulled out. Despite these issues, we had a memorable stay on our 21st wedding anniversary and 10th birthday celebration.

Fredrick's is an individually designed and elegantly furnished hotel located in the heart of the city. Each room and suite has been conceived to provide exceptional standards of comfort. The award-winning restaurant serves exquisite food and fine wines in a sophisticated setting. Unfortunately, this hotel is stuck in the past and is extremely dated, with carpets that are dirty and dusty and a spa that is like an abandoned leisure centre. The fire alarm went off at 1 am in the morning and kept going off every hour until 6 AM. The night manager was unhelpful and the staff in the bar area allowed a drunk guest to cause a disturbance. Breakfast was disgusting, the radiators were loud, and we felt unsafe. We do not recommend staying here.
