The house has been tastefully decorated, is spacious with a large garden and smoking area. The landlord is very professional and accommodating, and the house is full of amenities like coffee/tea/toothbrushes/towels. Perfect for small groups, couples and families, the house is a great base to explore the area and all it has to offer. The facilities are top-notch, there's a coffee machine, washing machine, dryer and cereals. Our reviews speak for themselves - highly recommended!

Breakfast can be arranged with the hotel for a discounted price. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and went out of their way to make sure a 12 year old in our group had fresh food when we arrived late in the evening. It is an easy access to motorways and a fair walk to Slough station, with no parking issues. A great choice for a one night stay or a longer trip.

Breakfast is of a good size and can be adapted to vegetarian preferences. The staff are exceptionally attentive and friendly, with Manager Hannah ensuring every detail is taken care of. The grounds are beautiful, although the garden was sadly yellow due to the extreme weather. There's a 20-minute walk to Taplow station for the Elizabeth Line and a 15-minute walk to Super Tesco. Our stay was wonderful, with the added bonus of a delightful schoolgirl looking after us on the morning of our arrival.

Cliveden House - an Iconic Luxury Hotel

Cliveden is a majestic Italianate mansion set within long, beautiful National Trust gardens. It is 45 minutes west of London and just 20 minutes from London Heathrow Airport. The Edwardian elegance of the house is combined with modern luxury, fine cuisine, faultless hospitality and a luxurious spa with a small but nice swimming pool and free of charge car parking. The rooms are well-appointed with separate sitting/living room and bedroom and toiletries are provided. There is also a small gym and beauty salon. Breakfast was not great with fruits not refilled until asked and poor collection of cheese and bread. Dinner at the main restaurant had a boring menu. The Blue Room is now set up for conferences instead of a lounge. The beef wellington for two is a great tribute to times gone past and dogs are welcomed in the public areas. The staff are excellent, making it a truly magical weekend. All expectations are smashed by Cliveden making it an unforgettable experience.

The rooms are lovely, but the beds are quite firm and the pillows are soft and noisy. Breakfast was a let down, with cold and lukewarm food and only one toaster in service. The restaurant is understaffed and chaotic, making for an embarrassing dining experience. Some rooms have no bins, and the iron has no ironing board. However, the front of house team are helpful and apologetic in the case of any mix-ups.

Crowne Plaza Reading East is a luxurious hotel set in landscaped gardens, with exceptional dining experiences and a modern, contemporary design to suit both business travellers, leisure guests, and spa-goers. On arrival, the reception staff were efficient and welcoming. The rooms were well-furnished, clean and comfortable. The bar service was efficient and the staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was of good quality, with a selection of cereals, juices, fruits, cold items and hot food. While the hot food didn't quite meet the standards of a hotel of this standing, the staff were very accommodating and Josephine was polite and hardworking at the breakfast service. With a spa and everything you could need for a relaxing stay, this hotel is a great choice for anyone looking for a luxurious break. Blue badge parking spaces were filled with non-displayed badge cars on return from a celebration dinner, leaving little time for socializing over breakfast. Management said they would check the unauthorised parkers, but failed to address the issue. Despite this, we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious stay.
