Sleep Lodge is the perfect place to stay if you're looking for an idyllic getaway in the picturesque Peak District town of Bakewell. With stunning countryside views and modern, comfortable rooms equipped with flat-screen TVs, DVD players and free Wi-Fi, you'll feel right at home. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly, and the room had all the amenities you need, including washing up liquid, tea towel & cloths, plates, glasses, cutlery, and tea/coffee/sugar/milk sachets. We even ordered a cooked breakfast which was delivered to our room and was delicious. The property is close to all amenities, with plenty of places to eat and shops to visit in walking distance. Chatsworth House is only a short distance away and there are some great walks around the area. All in all it was a fantastic stay and we would definitely recommend Sleep Lodge in Bakewell.

The Holiday Inn South Normanton offers a convenient and comfortable stay for those travelling to Nottingham, Derby or Chesterfield. Located a 2-minute drive from junction 28 of the M1 and close to McArthurGlen Retail Outlet, Matlock and other tourist attractions, the hotel offers free parking, a health club with pool and gym and a large dining area with very good food. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed with quality fittings and furniture, plenty of wall sockets, amply storage, a king-sized bed, fridge, iron and more. There is a walk-in shower with a non-slip surface, efficient heating and air conditioning, and a full English breakfast with vegetarian options. While the hotel strives to meet the needs of all guests, some have experienced disappointment. Despite this, the hotel is still worth considering for work or leisure stays.

While the hotel is a bit dated and may not be worth the price for some, the staff are friendly and helpful, the bedding is exceptionally clean, and the continental and cooked breakfast offerings are plentiful. However, the evening menu is limited and the hotel itself is quite stuffy, as well as charging VAT on top of the booking price. All-in-all, it's a decent place for a one-night stay, but don't expect any frills.

The bed was super comfy, the spa is exceptional and the restaurant was lovely. The hotel is tastefully done and has been renovated in keeping with its history, with 3 swimming pools, 3 saunas, steam room, aroma room, relaxation room, mud rooms and salt cave. Buxton is a beautiful small town in the Derbyshire countryside, worth discovering for its stunning views, good restaurants and Solomons Temple, which is just 2km away.

The Palace Hotel Buxton & Spa is a grand Victorian hotel located 300 metres away from the Buxton Train Station. Offering a range of luxurious facilities such as a swimming pool, beauty salon and a range of comfortable rooms, this hotel is the perfect place for a relaxing stay. Unfortunately, our experience was less than satisfactory. Rooms were cold, with the central heating radiator off, the window stuck shut and no ventilation. At breakfast, there were no tea bags or cups and the burnt toast was served to all. Dinner was tasteless and the service was terrible. Management seemed to be lacking and staff were untrained and undermanned. Overall, this hotel fails to meet the standards of a four star hotel, and falls short of a two star performance.
