The Langstone Quays Resort is located just 8 miles from Portsmouth, outside of Havant on the northern shore of Hayling Island. Overlooking the Langstone Estuary and Harbour, yet close to major road networks, the Langstone Quays Resort offers 4-star accommodation for both leisure and business travelers. However, it is in need of some updating; the bathroom hasn't been updated since the 70s, the food is inedible, the staff are understaffed and the atmosphere is rowdy and intimidating. There have been several complaints from guests, including false fire alarms, being charged three times the amount per night as wedding guests, and teenagers running riot through the hotel. This is not the experience we expect from a 4-star resort and we hope Booking.com can help us resolve the issue.

Unfortunately, the hotel is understaffed and the service lacking. The rooms are clean but not 4 star and the bar service is slow. The restaurant serves food that is often straight from the freezer and expensive. Breakfast is served in the morning, but the queue can be up to 20 minutes to get in. The reception is rarely manned and the housekeeping staff are non-existent. My husband and I, with our 10 years of experience in the industry, had to step in and help the waiting staff cope with the pressure. All in all, this hotel could be great, but due to the lack of staff and poor service it is not worth the price.

While there appeared to be two weddings taking place on the Saturday afternoon and evening, the normal lounge bar was understaffed and the quality of the evening dinner food was poor. The waiting staff were very young and inexperienced. Unfortunately, a receptionist charged our group for drinks which he said were free, and the manager and other members of staff would not believe us and insisted we had to pay. We were very unhappy with the service and will not be returning.

The kitchen was well-equipped with a fridge, freezer, oven, microwave and utensils. Plus, the resort has a seasonal outdoor pool, a terrace, sauna, bar and guest laundry room. Health protocols are closely observed and the staff are extremely attentive. We had a wonderful family break, creating lovely memories and can’t wait to return!
