Lythe Hill Hotel and Spa is a country house hotel located in the beautiful Surrey Hills. It offers a restaurant, a spa with a swimming pool, treatments, and a great base for hiking the serpent, diamond, or South downs way. Our room was big, bright and clean, and the spa facilities were clean, too. However, our stay was let down by the service, and we were not offered any compensation for being told the spa would be out of order for a full day. The food was good, but there were some issues with the restaurant being refurbished. For New Year's Eve, the hotel was advertised as a Gatsby event, but the spa facilities were out of order, the pool was too cold, and the only Gatsby aspect was those who dressed up. The room we stayed in was lovely and recently renovated. All in all, it was an underwhelming experience.
