Lythe Hill Hotel and Spa is a beautiful country house hotel set in the picturesque Surrey Hills. The property features a restaurant, a spa with swimming pool, gym and leisure facilities. Our room was spacious and clean and the spa was also clean. We had booked a treatment which was great. The hotel is a great base for hiking, with access to the Serpent, Diamond and South Downs Way. The food was good, both for breakfast and dinner. Unfortunately, the spa was out of order for a full day and no compensation was offered. The main restaurant was being refurbished and food was being run across the car park. We waited for an hour for a sandwich with no apology. On New Year's Eve, the leisure facilities were closed, the pool was cold and the sauna and showers were out of order. The room was lovely, recently renovated and comfortable. The evening event was advertised as Gatsby-themed, but only those that made the effort to dress up did so. Overall, it was not a great experience.
