The Lythe Hill Hotel and Spa is a beautiful country house set in the picturesque Surrey Hills. Its restaurant and spa with swimming pool are great facilities for guests. Our stay last year was great, however this year the service was disappointing. The room was spacious and clean, and the spa facilities were also clean. It's a great base for hikes and the food was good. We were told after booking that the spa would be out of order for a full day of our stay and no compensation was offered. The main restaurant was being refurbished and they used another space with limited cooking facilities. We also waited an hour for a sandwich with no apology. For New Year's Eve, we were disappointed to find out that the leisure and spa facilities were closed. The room was lovely and clean, but the spa and pool were cold and not well-maintained. The Gatsby event was also a little underwhelming.
