Set in the picturesque Surrey Hills, Lythe Hill Hotel and Spa is a country house hotel with a restaurant and spa with swimming pool. Our room was bright, clean and spacious, and the spa facilities were also clean. The pool was a little on the cold side, but it's a great facility for the price. It's an ideal base for hiking the Serpent, Diamond or South Downs Way. The food was good both for breakfast and dinner. Unfortunately, the spa was out of order for a full day and no compensation was provided. The restaurant was being refurbished and food was being run from another building with tin foil on the plates. Service was lacking and we waited an hour for a sandwich with no apology. The New Year's Eve event was also lacking, with only those that made the effort to dress up having the Gatsby experience. The room was renovated and comfortable, but the spa facilities were out of order and the pool cold.
