Mercure Maidstone Great Danes Hotel is a beautiful Georgian country house set in 26 acres of private grounds, conveniently located close to Maidstone at Junction 8 of the M20 motorway, in the heart of Kent. Offering free parking, the hotel is nestled next to Leeds Castle, providing a peaceful and picturesque setting. With a bar and restaurant, the hotel has a range of facilities, including a fitness centre and pool (with social distancing restrictions). The rooms have all the necessary amenities, including toiletries, a tv, safe, hairdryer, kettle and tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Breakfast is a buffet offering individually wrapped croissants, pain au chocolat, bread for toasting, fun-size cereal, yoghurt and fresh fruit, as well as a hot buffet. However, some guests have reported that the hotel's decor appears tired and worn, and that the pool area is dark and not in a good state of repair. Additionally, some rooms have reportedly not been deep-cleaned since reopening, with cobwebs, old carpets and dirty bathrooms. As always, manners of staff are expected and should be of a high standard.

Eastwell Manor Hotel is an impressive building, boasting beautiful lawns and set in peaceful surroundings. It features two restaurants, a bar, a gym, and a spa. Our experience was mixed. The room was quaint and the view was stunning, but the bed was not comfortable. The spa facilities, while available, were overly expensive and the staff were not helpful. The property overall was not clean, with flys and spiders everywhere, and the staff were next to useless. The gym, however, was good, with cleaning wipes available. We would not recommend this hotel, as it needs an intense clean, face lift and better staff.

Guests can enjoy excellent conference facilities and a purpose-built training floor. Unfortunately, some guests have reported issues such as flies in their rooms, single beds instead of double beds and no working heating. Additionally, a fire alarm went off and was not sorted for a long time. Despite this, the hotel does offer a pool and jacuzzi for guests to enjoy (although this is sometimes out of order due to maintenance issues). Overall it is a decent hotel, but guests should be aware of the potential for issues during their stay.

The Spa Hotel is a beautiful country mansion, situated just a 15-minute walk from Tunbridge Wells Rail Station. Set in 14 acres of gardens and parkland, the hotel offers a swimming pool and sauna (pre-booking required). Despite the luxurious-looking IG pics, the rooms can be outdated and disappointing. However, some of the staff are friendly and polite, especially in the Orangery restaurant. Unfortunately, they had a few hiccups during my stay, such as not having pre-booked breakfast slots and a no-show taxi driver. Room 202 was an absolute disaster, with bugs, flies, broken shower hose, and no table to place the room service tray. Due to these issues, I checked out early, but was not refunded. I would not recommend this hotel.
